The collaboration is formalized within the Photonic Integration Technology Center (PITC) and aligns with a new silicon nitride roadmap. Research and development will take place partly at the MESA+ Institute, with Demcon participating through its subsidiary Demcon TSST. The project is supported in part by the National Growth Fund programme PhotonDelta and reflects the growing importance of photonic chips as a key technology for the Dutch high‑tech ecosystem.

As Emiel Rutgers, Managing Director at Demcon TSST, concludes: “By joining forces, we are leveraging our collective expertise to push the boundaries of photonic technology, accelerate innovation, and pave the way for energy‑efficient solutions that will benefit a wide range of industries.”
