From a rough calculation on the back of an envelope to extensive physics based modeling, the scope of our multiphysics engineers is very broad. Their philosophy is always: do what is necessary. Sometimes a quick sums will suffice to check whether or not a suggested solution makes sense. In other cases a full finite element analysis is required to accurately validate or calculate flows, pressure distribution, heat transfer or electromagnetics, amongst others.

The value of simulation-driven product development

Our multiphysics engineers can contribute in the very early phase of a project when all design options are still open to precalculate concept designs and make feasibility studies.

Or they can step in when building a prototype is either too complex or too expensive, or when real-life testing simply isn’t possible or when the possible outcome of a test is highly undesirable or downright destructive.

With our simulation and modeling expertise, we help customers achieve first-time-right designs while reducing product development time and costs. By combining fundamental physical insight from analytical approaches with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), we can model a wide range of physical phenomena. This enables us to understand and optimize the performance of a mechatronic design before it is realized. Test set-ups are then used to validate and further refine the physical models.
