The quantum industry is developing rapidly. New startups are emerging, and scale-ups are growing, particularly around Delft, the Netherlands. Internationally, there’s also growing interest in quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum communication. Given the complexity of the technology, the transition from prototype to product is a significant one. Demcon encounters this challenge with increasing frequency. The company has been working on high-tech systems for semiconductors, big science, and aerospace for decades, and uses this solid foundation to help quantum teams take the next step toward industrialization.
About
SPIE Photonics Europe highlights current advances across a wide range of photonics technologies and applications. The event reflects how photonics continues to evolve as an enabling technology for high precision systems in research and industry.
Our work focuses on developing and integrating complex photonics systems where optics, mechanics, electronics, and software function as one. Together with Demcon focal, we combine multidisciplinary system engineering with deep expertise in optics, optomechatronics, and precision mechanics to support the transition from research to robust, industrial grade photonics solutions.
The challenges we solve
Optical design & alignment
We design optomechatronic modules in which optical elements, positioning, and mechanical stability are integrated into a single system, including beam shaping and active or passive alignment strategies.Metrology & thermal control
Leveraging experience from semiconductor and aerospace applications, we ensure mechanical rigidity and thermal stability, which are critical for photonic packaging and long term reliability.Electronics & control systems
Our teams develop control architectures for active alignment, vibration isolation, and adaptive optics, enabling stable and accurate photonics systems.Software & simulation
Using multiphysics simulations, we validate designs early, predict thermal and mechanical behavior, and optimize system performance before hardware is built.
