Demcon selected for third lot in UKAEA’s Design & Build Framework.

Demcon high-tech systems has been selected for Lot 4 in UKAEA’s Design & Build Framework, part of the Fusion Futures program. This selection follows our previous selections for Lot 2 and 3 within the new UKAEA Framework. This framework supports the development of future fusion technologies by engaging industry partners across design, engineering, prototyping and digital systems. This is now the third UKAEA framework in which Demcon participates, alongside the Engineering Design Services and Embedded Engineering Resource frameworks.

Lot 4 – Digital & Control Systems
Lot 4 focuses on digital system design, including software development, real‑time control frameworks, high‑performance computing, automation, and advanced data handling. These systems play a vital role in ensuring safe and optimized fusion reactor operations, including plasma control and remote monitoring.

Lot 2 – Component Design, Build & System Integration
This lot focuses on the development of high‑performance components and subsystems for fusion applications. It includes mechanical, electrical and thermal component development, as well as assembling these into operable subsystems for integration into larger fusion systems. These activities require advanced engineering capabilities and strict performance and safety compliance.

Lot 3 – Prototype & Rig Design and Build
This lot covers the creation of prototype systems and experimental rigs that help validate new fusion technologies. These test environments enable early‑stage technology qualification and form a crucial bridge between concept development and future industrial fusion systems.
